Why?

According to a study by the World Health Organization of the United Nations, more than 700 million people around the world need glasses but cannot afford them. Children cannot learn, parents cannot work and care for their families.

How to achieve this goal

It is sold for two to three local daily wages. This makes the OneDollarGlasses affordable - even for very poor people.

The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.

We train people in the production of glasses and in the performance of visual tests. They can then supply their compatriots with glasses themselves.

Where are this glasses distributed?

The glasses are sold where people would otherwise not have access to vision aids. This sometimes includes India, Uganda, Bolivia and Mexico, to name a few.

OneDollarGlasses was founded in June 2012. Our goal: We want to provide glasses to 150 million people around the world - people who live on a dollar or less a day and still have no access to glasses.
